About the position

The Retail Supervisor at Goodwill Retail Services plays a crucial role in leading retail stores and donation sites to achieve their operational goals. This position involves managing store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and developing associates to create a customer-centric environment. The supervisor is responsible for opening and closing the store, managing register efficiency, and achieving daily production goals while supporting Goodwill's mission to provide training and employment services for individuals with disabilities or disadvantages.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store, ensuring all operations are conducted smoothly.
  • Manage register efficiency and achieve daily production goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop associates.
  • Train, motivate, and lead associates to create a customer-centric environment.
  • Plan and manage work to complete routine responsibilities and special assignments.
  • Solve problems of moderate to advanced complexity and identify root causes.
  • Champion community engagement initiatives and serve as an ambassador for Goodwill.
  • Maximize the value of donated goods and maintain production and store standards.
  • Coordinate the rotation of goods to ensure a continuous flow of merchandise.
  • Support training and coaching of employees to enhance productivity and collaboration.
  • Assist with the hiring process, including phone screens and new hire orientations.
  • Function as a service experience leader, maintaining efficient customer flow and cash controls.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment, ensuring safe equipment operation.
  • Conduct apprehensions following loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete data entry of required reports and share insights with leadership.
  • Communicate and implement policies and procedures consistently.
  • Plan and organize work assignments to enhance customer service and protect assets.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification, if required at the site.
  • Ability to work varied schedules and flexible hours, including a minimum of two closing shifts per week and every other weekend.
  • Must have a working phone for communication accessibility.
