About the position

The Retail Supervisor at Fort De Soto Hospitality is responsible for overseeing the successful operation of retail spaces within the park, ensuring that sales goals are met and customer service standards are upheld. This role involves training and mentoring retail staff, managing inventory, and providing financial reports to senior management. The position is crucial for maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction and operational effectiveness in a vibrant and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership within the retail and receiving environment to maintain the consistent delivery of excellent products & services and uphold the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Maximize financial performance and profit within the retail stores by supporting and executing the business plan with a focus on fiscal responsibility, effective employee recruitment, hiring and training and meeting the highest standards of quality.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial retail reports, on a weekly basis, for senior management that clearly explain the operational effectiveness, trends and forecasts.
  • Ensure all retail staff is trained, motivated and empowered to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Coaching and mentoring of employees should occur daily.
  • Regularly evaluate product performance and initiate modifications in conjunction with General Manager and Corporate Retail Operations.
  • Assist General Manager and Corporate Retail Operations to develop and implement targeted plans to meet key performance metrics.
  • Verifying incoming shipments are correct.
  • Correctly receiving merchandise in POS system.
  • Correctly labelling incoming merchandise.
  • Maintain merchandise displays according to company standards, maximizing performance.
  • Manage and maintain back stock, keeping the area clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Hospitality, Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful retail sales/business management experience.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, including the ability to coach, develop and clearly communicate expectations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to proactively recommend solutions.
  • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with POS system functionality.
  • Excellent customer service and people skills.
