About the position

The Retail Technology Project Manager at Sunoco is responsible for leading projects related to Point of Sale (POS) systems and IT equipment upgrades for retail service stations and convenience stores. This role involves overseeing project life cycles, managing resources, and ensuring successful project outcomes while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership and define project objectives and scope.
• Oversee quality control and coordinate team efforts to deliver projects according to plan.
• Manage the project life cycle from initiation through deployment and closure.
• Handle day-to-day activities of projects, project staff, and vendors.
• Create, manage, and track project documents including schedules, plans, and status reports.
• Organize and conduct meetings with project teams for planning purposes.
• Work with procurement and legal teams to bid and award contracts for retail work.
• Set policies and procedures for managing changes and communicating schedules.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers regarding project deliverables and status.
• Drive decisions on resource allocation, schedules, and functionality.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and oversee vendor execution of work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related field, or 2 years college and 5 years of experience with C-store and fuel control systems.
• 5+ years of related experience in a technology environment, including 2-3 years in project management.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and adaptability to change.

Nice-to-haves

• PMP certification or plans to obtain it.
• Understanding of Retail Technologies including Point of Sale and Communication Systems.
