Job Description: New Store Opening - Nashua, NH (NAS) - Opening Late Fall2024Address: 274 Daniel Webster HWY, Nashua, NH Nashua South (NAS),will be our second location in Nashua, New Hampshire. Nashua"North" is 6 miles north.Now accepting applications for full timeand part time positions in the following departments: PreparedFoods: production, counter, and runners (pizza, charcuterie, hotfood, salad bar, sandwiches), utility workers/dishwashers Cooks:Prepared Foods Cook / Food Production Bakery: production (breadmixers, pastry production, cake decorators), counter and coffee barCake Decorator: Creates appealing designs on all specialty bakerygoods. Related to cake, tart, pastry, and special-order decorationCustomer Service: cash registers, customer/cashier assistants(carts, bag groceries, general help) Meat: fresh, frozen, andsmoked natural meats and poultry; butchers, wrappers and counterhelp Meat Cutters: Butchers, performs duties relating to thecutting, preparation, display, and selling of meat productsProduce/Floral: production (cut fruit) and retail - fresh andpackaged produce items; may include cut fruit and vegetablesSeafood: fresh, frozen, and smoked seafood Specialty: cheese, beer;chocolate and housewares Grocery: grocery, frozen foods, dry goods,dairy, and bulk foods, may include housewares (must be able to liftup to 50lbs.) Whole Body: vitamins, supplements, body care andmakeup Store Receivers: Performs receiving, accounting, anddistribution operations associated with incoming product deliveriesfor all store TeamsProvides support as a Team Member, performingduties related to customer service, stocking, and sanitation inassigned department(s). All positionsmust strive to support WFM core values and goals, promote national,regional, and store programs and initiatives, and ensure adherenceto all applicable health and safety regulations.Responsibilities Follows department procedures for preparing, storing, rotating,and stocking of product. Prepares, packages, weighs, and prices products for sale. Monitors product quality and freshness and ensures properproduct rotation. Ensures cases and shelves are clean and well-stocked. Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep logs asrequired. Assists with periodic inventory checks. Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressedand ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends requiredtrainings and meetings. Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs ofcustomers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestiveselling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly andcourteously. Maximizes sales potential through effective and properprocedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, andmerchandising product. Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with establishedprocedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation,and safe work practices. Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitaryworking and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordancewith WFM cleanliness and safety standards. Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensuresaccuracy of signs and pricing. Immediately reports safety hazards and violations. Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, ornational leadership. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to sell proactively. Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried indepartment Ability to visually examine products for quality andfreshness. Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on variousproducts. Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness towork as part of a team. Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectablemanner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors. Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards inall interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members. Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective timemanagement and organization skills. Passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole FoodsMarket. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-pacedenvironment with a sense of urgency. Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals. DesiredWork Experiences No prior retail experience required. PhysicalRequirements/Working Conditions Must be able to lift 50 pounds. In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing andpulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting,squatting and reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends,and holidays as needed.
