About the position

The Retirement Experienced Actuarial Associate at Aon plays a crucial role in shaping actuarial strategies for pension plans and broader retirement consulting. This position involves preparing contribution requirements, updating valuation runs, interpreting results, and mentoring entry-level students. The associate will work closely with clients, leading key relationships and contributing to business leadership while ensuring a flexible work environment that promotes well-being and work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contribution requirements and accounting costs with oversight.
• Update valuation runs for any changes and program provisions from scratch.
• Interpret valuation results and provide initial recommendations to the lead actuary.
• Perform complicated pension benefit calculations and review simpler ones.
• Mentor and train entry-level students.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours when client needs arise.
• Draft original materials such as letters, reports, and discussion guides with guidance.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience in Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics.
• Preferred Actuary Experience but not required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in actuarial work.
• Pass actuarial exams with a minimal requirement of one course per year.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in strategic project areas including settlements, plan design, funding strategy, and pension de-risking.
