About the position

As a Retirement Actuarial Experienced Associate at Aon, you will play a crucial role within our Wealth practice, engaging in a variety of projects that support both our clients and internal teams. This hybrid role allows for flexibility, enabling you to work from home as well as in the office located in The Woodlands, Texas. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of actuarial tasks, including the review, analysis, and reconciliation of participant data, which is essential for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our actuarial services. You will assist in complex benefit calculations and the preparation of participant benefit statements, including Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). In addition, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of required government filings and participant notices, such as Form 5500, PBGC Forms, and the Annual Funding Notice. Completing annual valuations for qualified plans, non-qualified plans, and other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) plans will also be a key part of your role, which includes calculating liabilities, contributions, and expenses, as well as preparing detailed actuarial reports. You may also engage in special projects that require the analysis of large volumes of participant data, such as experience studies and mortality studies. Furthermore, you will be involved in projections of long-term financial information for pension and other post-retirement benefit plans, and you will contribute to the design and costing of new or alternative retirement programs. Responsibilities

  • Review, analysis, and reconciliation of participant data
  • Assistance with complex benefit calculations and participant benefit statements including Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs)
  • Preparation and review of required government filings and participant notices (ex. Form 5500, PBGC Forms, Annual Funding Notice)
  • Complete annual valuations for qualified plans, non-qualified plans, and other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) plans including the calculations of liabilities, contributions, expense, and preparation of actuarial reports
  • Engage in special projects that may require analysis of large volumes of participant data such as experience studies and mortality studies
  • Projections (both stochastic and deterministic) of long-term financial information for pension and other post-retirement benefit plans
  • Design and costing of new or alternative retirement programs

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Completion of 3-4 actuarial exams
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent time and project management skills, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Seeks and shares ideas for continuous improvement of processes and procedures
