About the position

The Retirement Coordinator will manage the administration of retirement plans for County employees within the Department of Human Resources. This role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, preparing reports, and providing recommendations to empower employees in managing their retirement benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee retirement plans, including 401(k) Plan, Section 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, Carroll County Pension Plan, and Carroll County Public Safety Pension Plan.
  • Serve as the primary retirement coordinator for Maryland State Retirement.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding retirement plans.
  • Educate and inform employees about their retirement benefits.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing retirement plans or similar financial programs.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to retirement benefits.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate employees.
