About the position

The Retirement Implementation Manager at Alerus Financial oversees and manages the retirement implementation process for new clients and team members. This role is crucial in fostering a cohesive service team, directing workflow, and ensuring effective communication to implement retirement plans successfully. The manager will coach and mentor staff, engage in project initiatives, and standardize processes to enhance operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the retirement implementation process for new clients and team members.
  • Direct workflow and support communication within the Retirement Implementation team.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate staff to adhere to established practice standards.
  • Engage in the success of Alerus Retirement and Benefits (ARB) and promote new initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in projects to improve ARB products and services.
  • Implement changes to standardize processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Maintain excellent communication among all involved parties and resolve workflow issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or business-related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in retirement implementation.
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory or proven leadership experience.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of all types of retirement plans.
  • Proven leadership, management, and direct supervisory skills.
  • High level written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Developed relational skills such as diplomacy, judgment, decision making, and discretion.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow effectively.
