About the position

The Retirement Implementation Practice Manager II will manage a team of Implementation Managers while also serving as an Implementation Manager for Retirement projects. This role requires a strong background in the retirement industry, experience in large and complex implementations, and proven leadership skills, particularly during organizational changes.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and escalate project risks and issues to client and internal leadership.
  • Work in partnership with the Project/Program Manager to be responsible for the deliverables for all workstreams.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Workstream Leads, and PMO to define the organizational structure of the program/project.
  • Identify and track all cross-workstream dependencies.
  • Lead the development of the 'Go-Live' playbook and execution of identified tasks, including mock conversions to validate critical tasks.
  • Define and refine the role of Implementation Manager, including accountabilities and responsibilities as it relates to the broader implementation team.
  • Establish division business strategies that align with corporate goals and objectives; effectively communicate strategies translating them into actionable items.
  • Perform resource planning and allocation; support direct reports in meeting conversion timelines and requirements.
  • Approve hiring recommendations and hold direct reports accountable for staff continuity.
  • Foster and promote cooperation and information sharing among team members; proactively address performance issues through appropriate HR tools.
  • Identify, develop, and implement new processes, improve existing processes, and eliminate ineffective processes; hold teams accountable for compliance.
  • Establish and manage budget and revenue goals using financial and qualitative information and tools.
  • Interact directly with clients at a senior/executive management level, managing problem escalation and providing sales support.
  • Remain abreast of industry trends and technology standards.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of retirement industry experience, including banking and cash reconciliation, recordkeeping and administration, trading, and digital platforms.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a professional project management environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

  • General business skills, industry knowledge, financial management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to identify, address, and resolve employee-related issues.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
