About the position

The Retirement Member Services Associate position at the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association (SDCERA) is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assisting County employees in planning for their retirement by providing superior customer service, performing data entry, conducting benefit calculations, and engaging in research and analysis. The Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate pension payments to over 51,000 current and former County employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data input and data entry tasks accurately.
  • Conduct research and analysis related to retirement benefits.
  • Calculate pension benefits for County employees.
  • Provide excellent customer service to assist employees with their retirement planning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of pension payments.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; OR
  • Two (2) years of experience performing financial calculations, statistical/metrics analysis, and data review.
  • Strong keyboarding and data entry skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with pension benefits and retirement planning.
