About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the overall relationship for a group of assigned clients within the Retirement Plan Services practice. Your primary focus will be to leverage the collective resources of the team to provide superior strategic and tactical support to these clients. This position is crucial in securing new clients through activities that are integral to the new business development process. It is an excellent opportunity for a Retirement Professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative culture. You will apply your broad industry knowledge to service existing clients while also working to land new clients. This involves managing the ongoing service needs of multiple clients and performing comprehensive assessments of their Retirement plans. These assessments will include evaluating design features, service providers, costs, investments, compliance, and participant behavior. You will also assimilate industry and competitor benchmarking data to analyze plan design, allowing you to develop objective recommendations that align with the client's objectives. Engaging in Request for Proposal (RFP) activities will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will effectively plan, assess, and make recommendations regarding provider selection, investment strategy, and plan conversion for the client. Additionally, you will provide ongoing and customized investment advisory services and support, which includes problem resolution, plan design review, investment strategy, and updates on regulatory and legislative changes. Acting as a liaison between the client and retirement plan service providers will be essential to achieving optimal results. You will also conduct plan reviews and fiduciary responsibility meetings with the senior leadership teams of your respective clients. To succeed in this role, you will need to become well-versed in all of Marsh McLennan Agency's practices to effectively articulate our services and value proposition to both existing and prospective clients.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage team resources to provide superior strategic and tactical support.
  • Secure new clients through activities integral to the new business development process.
  • Apply broad industry knowledge to service existing clients and land new clients.
  • Manage ongoing service needs of multiple clients.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of Retirement plans including design features, service providers, costs, investments, compliance, and participant behavior.
  • Assimilate industry and competitor benchmarking data and analyze plan design to develop objective recommendations.
  • Engage in RFP activities to effectively plan, assess, and make recommendations on provider selection, investment strategy, and plan conversion.
  • Provide ongoing/customized investment advisory service and support, including problem resolution and plan design review.
  • Act as liaison between client and retirement plan service providers to achieve optimal results.
  • Conduct Plan reviews and fiduciary responsibility meetings with clients' senior leadership teams.
  • Become well-versed in all of Marsh McLennan Agency's practices to articulate services and value proposition.

Requirements

  • 5+ years industry/applicable experience with a bachelor's degree and strong technical expertise in retirement plan design/administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and expand broad industry knowledge to effectively service and advise clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, including advanced writing and presentation skills.
  • AIF Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 63, 65 or 66 licensure preferred.
  • Strong industry knowledge regarding service providers, plan design, industry trends, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
