About the position

The Bank Operations Deposit Processing Specialist at Regions is responsible for performing operational duties to support the processing of deposits, including check processing, exception processing, and return item processing. This role is essential in ensuring that all deposits are accurately coded and processed, while also acting as the first line of defense against fraud and suspicious transactions. The position requires a strong understanding of banking procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance on all accounts
• Ensures that all deposits are coded and processed correctly
• Corrects and resolves any encoding errors
• Processes any return deposit items
• Acts as first line of defense for fraud or suspicious transaction activities, including escalating any suspicious transactions or closing the account
• Keeps up to date on all applicable government regulations and company policies
• Provides guidance to less experienced team members

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) years of related banking or operations experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• General knowledge of banking procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
