Revegetation Reclamation Field Operations Manager

About the position

The Revegetation - Reclamation Field Operations Manager at Fortress Development Solutions is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful completion of revegetation and reclamation projects in the oil & gas and construction sectors. This role involves overseeing operations, managing project teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards, while reporting to the Director of Reclamation, Stewardship, and Environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for revegetation and reclamation projects, ensuring seamless integration of processes and timelines.
• Oversee inventory management, ensuring materials and equipment are safe, available, and project-appropriate.
• Forecast crew and equipment needs based on project workload and schedules.
• Assist in developing and implementing best practices and operational procedures.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Lead, mentor, and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Attract and expand project team support as needed.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Provide guidance and resources for team success and personal development.
• Oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Monitor project progress, address risks, and resolve issues effectively.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and present project updates, reports, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain client relationships while identifying opportunities for new business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of reclamation and revegetation methodologies.
• Familiarity with farm and reclamation equipment and ranching/agricultural operations.
• Strong understanding of plant identification and field conditions related to revegetation.
• Proven experience in personnel and equipment fleet management.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and sustain stakeholder relationships.
• Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the oil & gas and construction industries.
