About the position

The Revenue Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate recording and reporting of revenue transactions for the Mountain Segment. This position is integral to the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, involving journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and fluctuation analysis. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting standards and improve revenue recognition processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform review of revenue product set-up prior to winter and summer seasons to ensure accurate product set-up and revenue recognition.
  • Reconcile differences between the GL and daily ledger, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform monthly journal entries to recognize and adjust revenue related to on-mountain revenue.
  • Analyze, review, and prepare complex deferred revenue balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts impacted by foreign currency.
  • Utilize and create system reports to improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with key SOX requirements and accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Focus on ongoing process improvement and participate in initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Actively participate in driving results to meet individual, team, and department objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance.
  • 2+ years accounting experience.
  • Strong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Self-starter with a drive for excellence and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Experience in PeopleSoft, Blackline, Alteryx, SQL reporting, RPOS and nVision is a plus.
