About the position

Join a prominent healthcare company in Alpharetta, GA, as a Revenue Accounting Manager. In this role, you will oversee revenue recognition, manage the monthly close process, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, and handle a variety of complex accounting duties. A solid technical understanding of US GAAP, healthcare net patient revenue, and accounting processes is crucial. You will be expected to bring innovative ideas to enhance current processes while executing strategic initiatives or addressing complex accounting issues. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills are essential for success. Responsibilities

  • Oversee revenue recognition procedures and accounts receivable.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A/Revenue Cycle Management team to drive efficiencies and establish best practices.
  • Design and implement processes and controls to ensure completeness, accuracy, and existence of revenue recognition, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review critical month-end files with FP&A and RCM to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Assist in updating revenue recognition policies and memos in accordance with US GAAP and ongoing technical accounting research.
  • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial transaction recording and appropriate coding.
  • Prepare and review accounting reconciliations, approve related journal entries.
  • Effectively communicate changes in contractual adjustments and required bad debt reserves with RCM, FP&A, and joint venture health system accounting teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Improve close and reporting cycles.
  • Identify recurring and non-recurring transactions for management reporting.
  • Develop and enforce effective internal controls in compliance with GAAP and regulatory laws.
  • Support the establishment of annual financial objectives aligning with the company's operational, growth, and profitability plans.
  • Manage additional projects as needed, such as system implementations or upgrades.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding and experience in healthcare revenue preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; anticipate issues and provide sound guidance for resolution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources, and collaborate across disciplines and locations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, with high integrity and ethical standards.
  • Experience in managing a team.
