About the position

SCA Health is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to join our team in Myrtle Point, Oregon. This role is pivotal in overseeing revenue recognition, reporting, and analysis for patient billable revenue and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SCA Health's internal policies and procedures. The Revenue Accounting Manager will report directly to the Director of Revenue Integrity and will lead a team of revenue accountants and analysts. This position is integral to supporting SCA Health's physician practice investments and enhancing the overall financial performance of the organization. In this role, the Revenue Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of achievement and customer focus. The manager will design and implement processes to ensure accurate and timely financial data analysis, while also reviewing the work of revenue accountants to maintain high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include developing key reporting metrics, reviewing payor contracts for proper revenue recognition, and effectively communicating financial impacts to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of revenue cycle processes, particularly in the healthcare sector. This position requires a proactive approach to continuous improvement of revenue processes and the ability to manage special projects and ad hoc reporting needs as they arise. The Revenue Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in aligning financial operations with strategic objectives, ensuring that the organization meets its goals while providing exceptional service to its partners and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee revenue recognition, reporting, and analysis for patient billable revenue and accounts receivable in accordance with GAAP and SCA Health's policies.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor revenue accountant(s) and analyst(s), fostering a knowledge base within the team.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a customer-focused team culture with open communication and career development opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and maintain processes for accurate and timely financial data analysis.
  • Review work conducted by revenue accountants to ensure quality output.
  • Develop and manage key reporting metrics to track team performance and goal achievement.
  • Review payor contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Summarize and communicate proposed solutions to stakeholders in an understandable manner.
  • Maintain communication and partnership with leadership of various stakeholder groups to meet strategic objectives.
  • Assist management with oversight of special projects and ad hoc revenue reporting needs.
  • Continuously review revenue processes for enhanced efficiencies and quality.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 5+ years corporate and/or public accounting experience required.
  • 2+ years management experience required.
  • Physician Practice and Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of patient accounting systems and revenue cycle processes.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and statistical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
