About the position

Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a part-time Revenue Analyst for their Portland, Oregon location. In this role, you will support and assist the Customer Billing organization within Customer Support Services. The role involves collaborating with various teams, analyzing data from multiple sources, and ensuring billing information complies with contracts, laws, regulations, and policies to produce accurate and timely customer bills. This position is a one-year renewable contract that includes employee benefits! If you think you'd be a good fit, we want to hear from you! Pay Range: $40.00 - $44.00/HR Hybrid in Portland, Oregon (Onsite 1 day per pay period). Please note that this is a part-time role - Up to 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, understandable, and timely billing services according to rate schedules, contracts, laws, and policies.
  • Analyze metering, contract, scheduling, and other documentation to ensure accurate billing.
  • Communicate with personnel and customers about billing and contractual issues.
  • Address inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Offer back-up billing support to other analysts to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Analyze customer demand and energy data to verify billing accuracy and consult with experts to address unmetered or inaccurate values.
  • Coordinate with Metering Services and Power and Transmission scheduling to obtain billing data.
  • Review contracts and amendments to assess their impact on billing and collaborate with Account Executives for clarification.
  • Assist in quality control by reviewing bills for accuracy and completeness and recommend guideline changes.
  • Perform system testing for billing enhancements and upgrades.
  • Represent the Billing organization on customer account teams and provide analytical support on billing issues.
  • Recommend and create mock reports on new billing factors and system requirements, collaborating with various internal groups.
  • Manage document filing and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
  • Maintain official records for auditing.
  • Conduct annual reviews and inventory of official files with oversight from the manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Computer Programming is preferred.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
  • 5 years of analysis experience in a fast-paced environment in a financial analytical capacity is required.
  • Experience must include familiarity with basic and some complex accounting and finance concepts and knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques.
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent communication and customer service to internal and external customers.
