About the position

The Revenue Analyst position at the City of Hollywood involves performing analytical and auditing activities related to public utilities. The role focuses on financial analysis, auditing, and addressing customer billing issues to ensure accurate and timely billing and revenue collection. The analyst will work under the supervision of the Public Utilities Customer Service Manager, contributing to various reports and presentations while maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of utility billing and accounts receivable to ensure accurate and timely billing of customers and the collection of revenues.
  • Review various billing and customer service reports including the billing charge proof report, meter reading report, and deposit refund report.
  • Evaluate and prepare billing adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor revenue-producing contracts and agreements to ensure accurate billing and collection of revenues.
  • Project revenue amounts for budgetary purposes as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly customer service PowerPoint presentations or other presentations.
  • Interact with customers to address billing or other customer service issues when needed.
  • Develop, conduct, and report on survey information of other municipalities and counties.
  • Prepare finance and utility reports as requested and required.
  • Assist finance staff in balancing, explaining, and reporting Utility Billing and AMI work product and information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience in government finance and accounting, and/or utility billing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the use of utility billing system, preferably Tyler Munis.
  • Five (5) years of experience in government finance, accounting, and/or utility billing.
