About the position

This position at WH Smith North America involves utilizing auditing skills to meticulously review sales data and identify discrepancies that may arise from fraud, technological failures, or accounting inaccuracies. The role requires the completion of a daily guided audit using a Sales Audit software program, which is essential for pinpointing, resolving, and documenting any discrepancies in Point of Sale (POS) transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and communicating any issues related to audit and reporting systems, ensuring that all store compliance issues are documented for reporting and follow-up purposes. In addition to daily audits, the role includes reconciling cash variances by analyzing bank deposits, guided audit reports, historical patterns, and other relevant data to document findings accurately. The candidate will also review exception-based reporting to detect operational errors, training deficiencies, and potential dishonest activities. When potential dishonest activities are uncovered, the candidate will initiate investigations by forwarding audit findings to the Loss Prevention and Inventory Control Department. Collaboration is key in this role, as the candidate will work closely with various divisions, including Merchandising and Accounting, to resolve operational issues and discrepancies.
