About the position

The Revenue Analyst at Palisades Tahoe plays a crucial role in maximizing revenue for the resort's offerings. This position involves analyzing pricing strategies, metrics, and trends to inform decision-making across various departments, ultimately aiming to enhance profitability. The Revenue Analyst will be responsible for weekly reporting in lift ticket and lodging divisions, utilizing tools like Power BI to develop and maintain reports that guide pricing and inventory adjustments based on supply and demand.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current and proposed pricing, yield management strategies, and performance metrics to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Update lodging yield information in the Revenue Management System and/or Property Management System based on guidance from the Senior Revenue Manager and property GM.
  • Evaluate existing reports, develop new reports, and produce regular reports in a timely manner as defined by the Revenue Management and core business departments.
  • Understand local and corporate database structures to retrieve appropriate data for analysis.
  • Utilize productivity software (Excel) and business intelligence applications (Microsoft Power BI) to analyze trends and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Complete special analyses such as variance analysis, sensitivity analysis, and performance measurement.
  • Research competitive offerings in lodging and ski-related products.
  • Provide critical input for the development of overall strategy for multiple business units and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing, business operations, and other departments to make informed decisions through analytics.
  • Work with the Director of Finance, Lodging GM, and Senior Revenue Manager to develop pricing and sales strategies for all market segments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management concepts.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, graphs, formulas, and VBA.
  • Strong database analysis skills and ability to retrieve data from multiple systems.
  • Proficient in developing data models and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
