About the position

The Revenue Analyst position is a key role within Guidewire's Revenue Team, which plays a crucial part in the company's operations and growth objectives. This role focuses on partnership transactions, including royalty expense arrangements and revenue share agreements, and involves collaboration with various internal teams to ensure accurate accounting processes. The Revenue Analyst will have ownership of royalty and cost to obtain accounting processes, contributing to the company's long-term direction in licensing and selling software and cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Own royalty transaction processing, month/quarter end close related activities and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in analyzing and researching royalty accounting matters regarding new and existing partner/reseller agreements.
  • Collaborate with Partner Alliance team on a regular basis to obtain all relevant information in order to close the books.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain desktop procedures for each area of responsibility.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating internal documentation for royalty and cost to obtain policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for royalty capitalization and amortization.
  • Prepare schedules to support monthly reviews, quarterly audit and external reporting processes.
  • Prepare quarterly royalty reports for each partner/vendor agreement on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with cross-functional groups to properly account for cost to obtain on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in implementation of Royalty Accounting technical systems.
  • Perform cost to obtain analysis on a quarterly basis.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Accounting and Operations experience required.
  • Knowledge of basic understanding of revenue and expense accounting.
  • Solid planning and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrates high energy with the ability to remain flexible and change priorities in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and often ambiguous work environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and customer service skills is required.
  • Detail-oriented, team player and self-starter.
  • Independently take ownership to manage assigned tasks.
  • Ability to figure out problems and think about solutions, reaching out to the manager and business partners to address concerns and provide suggestions.
  • Ensure close communication with the manager and provide updates in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; highly skilled in Google Workspace Applications.
