About the position

The Revenue Analyst at Guidewire Software plays a crucial role within the Revenue Team, contributing to the company's growth objectives and financial operations. This position focuses on partnership transactions, including royalty expense arrangements and revenue share agreements, while ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606). The analyst will collaborate with various teams to influence the company's licensing and sales strategies, providing insights that shape the long-term direction of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own royalty transaction processing and month/quarter end close activities.
• Assist in analyzing and researching royalty accounting matters regarding partner/reseller agreements.
• Collaborate with the Partner Alliance team to obtain relevant information for closing the books.
• Develop and maintain desktop procedures for areas of responsibility.
• Assist in maintaining internal documentation for royalty and cost to obtain policies and procedures.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for royalty capitalization and amortization.
• Prepare schedules for monthly reviews, quarterly audits, and external reporting processes.
• Prepare quarterly royalty reports for each partner/vendor agreement.
• Work closely with cross-functional groups to account for cost to obtain on a monthly basis.
• Participate in the implementation of Royalty Accounting technical systems.
• Perform cost to obtain analysis on a quarterly basis.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Accounting and Operations experience required.
• Basic understanding of revenue and expense accounting.
• Solid planning and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills and eagerness to learn.
• Detail-oriented, team player, and self-starter.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; highly skilled in Google Workspace Applications.
