About the position

At Workday, we are on a transformative journey, and we are looking for a skilled Revenue Analyst to join our dynamic Revenue Recognition Accounting Team. This team is dedicated to ensuring accuracy and transparency in revenue recognition, which is crucial for consistent financial reporting. As a Revenue Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with key stakeholders such as Sales, Legal, Dealdesk, Sales Ops, and Finance during the negotiation phase of deals. Your expertise will guide the structuring of key terms and clarify how revenue will be booked and recognized. In this fast-paced environment, you will need to demonstrate a proven ability to understand complex business issues while adhering to accounting standards. Your responsibilities will include managing workflows to provide timely feedback, documenting reviews in accordance with relevant accounting standards, and performing contract analysis to ensure subscription contracts are accurately recorded. You will also take ownership of reconciliations and other processes within the worldwide revenue close cycle, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of key revenue data. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all fully executed agreements are processed and accounted for correctly. You will also be involved in improving the contract management process alongside Dealdesk and Legal, maintaining documentation for all business processes and compliance-related work. Additionally, you will assist with special projects, driving them to successful completion while maintaining a culture of work-life balance within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Dealdesk, Sales Ops, Finance) during the negotiation phase of deals.
  • Advise on how to structure key terms and communicate how revenue will be booked and recognized.
  • Understand business issues and work within the framework of accounting standards to provide effective guidance.
  • Manage workflow to provide timely feedback and keep management aware of key issues.
  • Document reviews in accordance with relevant accounting standards with attention to detail.
  • Perform contract analysis review and prepare related revenue schedules to verify subscription contracts are accurately recorded.
  • Take ownership of reconciliations and other processes within the worldwide revenue close cycle.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of key revenue data.
  • Collaborate with Order-to-Cash cross-functional teams to ensure all fully executed agreements are properly processed and accounted for.
  • Work with Dealdesk and Legal to improve the contract management process.
  • Maintain documentation for all business processes and compliance-related work.
  • Assist with special projects and drive them to successful completion.

Requirements

  • 3+ years related experience in Revenue / Technical Accounting (compliance with ASC 606).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Experience with SaaS / Technology industry preferred.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Highly productive self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong accountability and detail-oriented; prepares accurate and timely work product.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive as a team player.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and messaging skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid business and organizational changes in a high-growth environment.
  • Capable of moving between a variety of roles with ease while working with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of global quote-to-cash business processes and best practices.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Salesforce, Apttus, and experience using Workday.
