About the position

The Chief of Staff for the Department of Revenue in Philadelphia will serve as a strategic leader providing executive and analytical support to the Revenue Commissioner. This role involves guiding cross-functional departmental projects, managing key assignments, and ensuring the effective execution of critical reports and documents. The Chief of Staff will work collaboratively with other department leaders to maximize operational effectiveness and support the department's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external department stakeholders to drive decisions.
  • Ensure execution of critical reports and mission-critical documents, including strategic plans and meetings.
  • Serve as a key thought partner, brainstorming and identifying solutions to challenges.
  • Manage large, cross-functional organization-wide projects, maintaining project calendars and tracking multiple projects.
  • Drive administrative-related projects to achieve higher levels of efficiency and performance.
  • Provide administrative management support, including drafting and reviewing communications on behalf of the Revenue Commissioner.
  • Support operational program development and act as a liaison between department leadership and programmatic areas.
  • Oversee research on best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, government administration, business administration, public policy or related field.
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred and may substitute for work experience.
  • Four+ years of experience in government, budget, accounting, financial analysis or revenue policy.
  • Strong process development skills and knowledge of fiscal operations.
