About the position

The Revenue Compliance Analyst at Ropes & Gray LLP plays a crucial role in the firm's Revenue team, focusing on ensuring compliance with Outside Counsel Guidelines and managing financial reporting and analysis. This position is designed for growth as the complexity of billing and compliance increases, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments. The analyst will be responsible for data management, reporting, and presenting findings to senior finance management, contributing to the firm's financial functions and compliance capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide revenue-reporting assistance to Firm Management, Partners, and departmental staff, creating custom reports as needed.
  • Review and analyze Associate and Partner adherence to the Firm's time entry requirements, maintaining records and communications regarding potential non-compliance.
  • Analyze clients with Outside Counsel Guidelines, reporting statistics, identifying trends, and disseminating guidelines to users.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to review unbilled write-offs and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Participate in firm and departmental projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • A minimum of five years experience in a professional services environment using time and billing software such as Elite, 3E, or Aderant.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, including advanced features such as pivot tables, graphs, formulas, and macros.
  • Experience creating and modifying database-oriented reports using software such as Microstrategy or Tableau.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and superior customer service abilities.
