About the position

The Revenue Cycle Administrator at Texas Oncology is responsible for managing the overall revenue cycle process, ensuring timely and accurate admission, registration, billing, and collection of patient accounts. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for practice growth, overseeing compliance with fiscal and regulatory requirements, and providing leadership to staff involved in the revenue cycle process. The position supports the mission of delivering high-quality, evidence-based cancer care and collaborates with various stakeholders to improve service quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall revenue cycle process including admission, registration, billing, and collection of patient accounts.
  • Develop and implement long and short-term strategies for practice growth and achievement of business metrics.
  • Oversee the collection of statistical and financial data for Medicare, Medicaid, and other required reports.
  • Provide leadership and direction for staff involved in the revenue cycle process.
  • Collaborate with physicians and management to identify areas of exposure and improve outcomes in service, quality, and accuracy.
  • Assess revenue cycle performance and create action plans to close gaps and achieve business metrics.
  • Establish standards and processes for continuous improvement in the revenue cycle.
  • Monitor effectiveness of software, vendors, and payers, providing feedback to Managed Care Contracting.
  • Manage practice-wide projects and build effective working relationships to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Develop and implement high standards for long and short-term goals that align with the company's vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent.
  • Eight (8) years of Revenue Cycle management experience required.
  • At least seven (7) years of medical revenue cycle management experience with a track record of achieving metrics.
  • Five (5) years of management experience successfully resolving people issues.
  • Strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and collections, including CPT, ICD9, and HCPC coding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in oncology or hematology revenue cycle management.
  • Familiarity with managed care products (HMO, PPO, etc).
