The Revenue Cycle Analyst will possess a high degree of knowledge in the overall field of revenue cycle management, particularly with a focus on physician billing within the healthcare enterprise. This role encompasses various processes including charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, claims submission, billing, and denials management. The analyst may also be involved with business office operations, requiring recognized expertise in specific areas. Problem-solving in this role often necessitates the analysis of unique issues that may not have precedent or structure, and the analyst may manage programs that involve formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources. The position functions with a high degree of autonomy, making it essential for the candidate to have advanced organizational and project management skills, as well as the ability to lead a team and prioritize tasks effectively. The Revenue Cycle Analyst will be expected to evaluate the effectiveness of workflows and systems in revenue cycle program areas, identify weaknesses, and develop innovative solutions and process improvements. This role requires advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to prepare compelling and informative reports and presentations for all levels of staff and management. Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze revenue cycle processes including charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, claims submission, billing, and denials management.
  • Collaborate with business office operations to ensure efficient revenue cycle management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve revenue cycle performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare and present reports and dashboards to management regarding revenue cycle metrics and performance.
  • Lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Evaluate workflows and systems in revenue cycle program areas to identify weaknesses and develop innovative solutions.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends affecting revenue cycle management.

Requirements

  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle practices, procedures, and concepts, including billing, collections, charge capture, and cash management.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced skills in report development, dashboard design, and various software tools specific to healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate workflows and systems in revenue cycle program areas.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interpret and convey complex clinical finance information clearly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Epic software.
  • Coding background and/or certification.
