About the position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst I position at ECU Health Medical Center involves providing professional support to the Senior Leadership of the Centralized Business Office (CBO). This role is situated in a dynamic and fast-paced environment responsible for billing both hospital-based and professional claims to various payors. The analyst will utilize critical thinking skills to optimize revenues, ensure compliance, and manage a range of workflows within the CBO.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the review and interpretation of new billing requirements, assisting in the design and implementation of operational workflows.
• Research ways to enhance hospital revenues.
• Assist in the implementation of financial improvements and track achievement of objectives.
• Review CBO vendor contracts to adjudicate accurate invoicing and payments.
• Review billing office workflows and outcomes to create recommendations for performance improvement.
• Exercise proficiency in payor portals.
• Evaluate internal and external data on billing activity, identifying trends and opportunities for improvements in net revenue.
• Monitor and evaluate gross charges.
• Create regular and ad-hoc reports for CBO leadership to assist in the decision-making process.
• Assist in outcomes of the payor contract management system to ensure account payments are expected.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requirements

• Four year college degree is required- or higher. BBA, BS or BA with a major in Accounting, or related degree is required.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in spreadsheet, word-processing, and presentation software.
• Ability to work under pressure and balance many competing priorities.
• Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Professional handling of exposure to confidential/sensitive information.
