About the position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst at Houston Methodist is responsible for facilitating data and analytics initiatives related to the revenue cycle. This role acts as a bridge between clients, stakeholders, and the assigned team, focusing on optimizing reimbursement through data analysis and reporting. The analyst will work on projects of intermediate complexity, identifying business needs and producing documentation to support operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate data gathering, trending, reporting, and analysis for revenue cycle initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between clients, stakeholders, and the assigned team.
• Identify and eliminate barriers to account resolution impacting reimbursement.
• Engage with customers and collaborate with operations and technical teams.
• Produce, analyze, validate, and document business and operational requirements.
• Participate as a subject matter expert in revenue cycle initiatives.
• Develop and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and variances for optimal reimbursement.
• Communicate analytic findings in an understandable manner.
• Extract data and present analyses on key metrics for performance improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, healthcare administration, or related discipline, or four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Three years of experience supporting revenue cycle functions.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems independently.
• Interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.

Nice-to-haves

• Skill in using spreadsheet, database, and word-processing software.
