About the position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst at UC Health plays a crucial role in implementing and supporting software applications used in Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle areas. This position involves acting as a liaison between various stakeholders, including IS&T and third-party vendors, to ensure system functionality and upgrades are effectively applied. The analyst is responsible for generating and analyzing reports to maintain data integrity and identify strategic trends, contributing to the overall efficiency of the revenue cycle process.

Responsibilities

  • Support third-party systems by maintaining, troubleshooting, and acting as a liaison to vendors.
  • Provide documented solution alternatives to problems/issues to support offered solutions.
  • Execute application design changes according to established procedures.
  • Develop detailed, written, and inclusive application test plans.
  • Perform complete testing of software and validate application requirements are met.
  • Provide user training and/or support to customers, training, and operations staff.
  • Provide timely and accurate support to resolve application errors and user-reported problems.
  • Document application requests using the Service Request system.
  • Act as a resource/subject matter expert for UC Health Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle departments.
  • Assist in the evaluation for system hardware and software products.
  • Manage system security by providing access to multiple applications and payer online software.
  • Utilize the Service Request system for documentation of requests and recording resolution.
  • Monitor, maintain, and terminate user access as needed.
  • Provide audit documentation of user security as required.
  • Define and design system tables, parameters, and setup that optimize application functionality.
  • Interact effectively with vendors, UC Health IS&T, and end users to evaluate and implement products.
  • Provide information and designs for testing applications and contingency plans.
  • Develop accurate application functional and technical specifications.
  • Design ad-hoc reports to meet customer requests.
  • Utilize report-scheduling software to automate reporting where applicable.
  • Provide maintenance support for all application tables or reports.
  • Check, verify, and process standard application reports as required by end users.
  • Facilitate end user meetings and develop consensus within user groups.
  • Encourage and display actions that result in high client satisfaction or process improvements.
  • Provide effective written and verbal communication to end users.
  • Consult with end users on application usage and issues.
  • Assist in the implementation of new third-party systems that support the Revenue Cycle.
  • Assess and escalate user requests and issues as necessary.
  • Assist with vendor and consultant activities during system installations and upgrades.
  • Work with programming teams on application development.
  • Provide training and assistance to PFS/Rev Cycle staff on new or upgraded applications.
  • Provide task-level detail for project plans, including suggested schedules and required skill sets of team members.
  • Provide accurate and timely status reports on projects.
  • Document and ensure timely resolution of project issues.
  • Coordinate effectively with team members and vendors.
  • Determine and manage workload priorities.
  • Raise issues to the appropriate level resource for projects.
  • Provide occasional backup for other application analysts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree in Information Systems or similar preferred.
  • Epic Hospital Billing and/or Epic Clarity Data Model certification preferred within one year.
  • Willingness to certify, license, or graduate within 12 months required.
  • 1 - 2 years of equivalent experience required.
  • 3 - 5 years of equivalent experience preferred.
