About the position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst at Scottsdale Recovery Center is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of behavioral and physical health claims in compliance with Arizona state and federal regulations. This role involves conducting denial and payment analysis, reporting trends, and providing feedback for process improvements within the Revenue Cycle or Finance department.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that medical and behavioral claims are billed according to regulatory compliance laws.
  • Assist in monitoring payer and clearinghouse rejections for timely clean claim submissions.
  • Analyze claim denials to identify root causes and follow up with payers for payment resolution.
  • Analyze accounts receivable for every payer and prioritize accounts based on deadlines and amounts.
  • Verify that payments received are correct according to state fee schedules or MCO contracts.
  • Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly payment posting as needed.
  • Review payer credits or refund requests to determine if a refund or corrected claim is necessary.
  • Communicate payer trends and process improvement ideas to leadership.
  • Review accounts for write-off or adjustment based on thresholds after exhausting collection efforts.
  • Fulfill payer correspondence requests and work on claim denials as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of HCPC, Revenue codes, and conversion.
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10 Diagnostic Codes.
  • At least 5 years' experience in medical billing (commercial and Medicaid) using E.H.R and E.M.R software.
  • At least 3 years of medical claims collection or behavioral health experience.
  • Knowledge in KIPU and CollabMD preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office 365 experience.
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to complete assigned projects.
