About the position

Campbell County Health (CCH) is the most comprehensive healthcare provider in the State of Wyoming, certified as an Area Trauma Hospital. The position reports to the Revenue Cycle Director and involves analyzing data to assist in revenue management. The role captures key performance indicators and provides suggestions for improvement and decision support. The individual will report key statistical data regarding vendor partners, track their performance, and provide actionable work plans and recommendations around revenue cycle improvements. This position requires close collaboration with stakeholders from various functional units, including billing, charge capture, coding, edit/denial management, and self-pay management. The employee will prepare detailed reports to assist leaders in cash and accounts receivable reporting, identify and analyze issues affecting net revenue, and ensure compliance with payer contracts. The job also entails maintaining a thorough understanding of patient billing and accounting systems, keeping current on third-party regulatory changes, and assisting with denial management efforts. The employee will be responsible for collecting, documenting, and analyzing reimbursement data, preparing various reports, and establishing relationships with other departments to improve charge capture and billing processes. The role requires proficiency in medical terminology, coding conventions, and revenue cycle processes, along with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to assist Revenue Cycle Director in revenue management.
  • Capture key performance indicators and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Report key statistical data regarding vendor partners and track their performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports to assist leaders in cash and AR reporting.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor issues affecting net revenue and contractual allowances.
  • Perform research, audit, and analysis of payer and business data to identify variances in revenue.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of patient billing and accounting systems.
  • Monitor Medicare/Medicaid and third-party reimbursement compliance.
  • Assist with Denial Management efforts.
  • Collect, document, and analyze reimbursement data.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Establish relationships with other CCH departments and build effective business partner relationships.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Utilize current payer contract terms to estimate net revenue calculations.
  • Monitor coding and billing updates that could affect revenue.
  • Analyze and trend claim issues for root cause resolution.
  • Work with Department Directors/Managers to identify opportunities to improve charge capture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare preferred, or associate's degree in healthcare will be accepted or equivalent years of experience.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a hospital setting, healthcare industry preferred.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and current knowledge of revenue cycle processes.
  • Strong understanding of CPT, HCPCs, and ICD10 coding conventions.
  • Current knowledge of NCCI edits and Medical Necessity rules as applied in LCD/NCD/LCA/NCA policies.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to type 40 WPM.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and organizational skills, and critical thinking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred RHIA, RHIT, CPC or CCS certifications.
  • Experience with MEDITIECH.
