About the position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst at the University of Miami is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of patient and financial data within the Central Business Office. This role involves auditing and reconciling account receivables, resolving missing charges, and ensuring correct charge entries. The analyst will also analyze billing processes, develop audit tools, and communicate findings to improve billing accuracy and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes billing process to ensure accuracy of billing documentation and resolves discrepancies.
• Performs audits of billing, collections, posting, variance, and data entry for accurate protocols.
• Develops audit tools to track and monitor audit outcomes and holds meetings to discuss data analysis results.
• Analyzes non-governmental payer contracts to ensure accurate contractual adjustments.
• Reviews and validates billing accounts and communicates findings to appropriate staff.
• Identifies and rectifies special circumstances affecting delayed payment submissions.
• Reviews billing information for accuracy and completeness, identifying and rectifying problems.
• Remains informed of statutory and regulatory changes affecting job functions.
• Escalates issues within the division when appropriate.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports, and correspondence.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
