About the position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst - Financial Clearance at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is responsible for managing data collection and analytics to support patient financial services. This role involves ensuring the integrity of sensitive financial information, implementing quality review programs, and facilitating process improvements across various departments. The analyst will also engage in project management activities, including leading committees and monitoring progress on departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Data Analysis & Quality Assurance for PFS Departments, including compiling reports and operationalizing KPI metrics activities.
  • Run and distribute metric reports to quantify and compare actual and expected performance.
  • Pull data from source systems and create analytic summaries, ensuring data validity and accuracy.
  • Manipulate data and perform analysis using Microsoft Excel and other analytic tools.
  • Utilize EPIC reporting and Slicer Dicer to create standard reports for leadership.
  • Identify payor trends and summarize findings for management.
  • Document findings and root causes of issues.
  • Analyze productivity standards and create dashboards to monitor department performance.
  • Support internal projects by leading data investigations and communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Document operational policies and procedures, and workflows as needed.
  • Identify, report, and track system-related operational issues, implementing solutions as necessary.
  • Maintain a leadership role in financial systems installs and upgrades.
  • Provide creative solutions to operational challenges and assist in making data-driven recommendations.
  • Support project management tasks by creating agendas and managing project timelines.
  • Monitor daily KPI tracking to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • At least three (3) years work experience in a healthcare finance, accounting, billing, or business role/environment Required
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, data connections, and advanced formulas
  • Excellent presentation skills and comfort presenting findings to staff and management
  • Strong understanding of Patient Financial Services procedures and operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to implement procedural changes and monitor progress

  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Certified Patient Financial Services Specialist - Hospital Business Institute within 6 months
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) - Healthcare Financial Management Association within 6 months
