The position coordinates the information systems of registration (patient access), billing, and collection functions of DCH Health System. The individual will assist the Assistant Director of Patient Access in analyzing patient accounts and revenues to maximize cash flow and efficiency, ensuring that the system, facility, and departmental objectives are met while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. A sound knowledge of quantitative data analysis is essential, as the role requires translating data into informed business decisions that optimize DCH and departmental strategic objectives. This position will work directly with both Patient Access and Patient Accounting to report and identify improvement opportunities related to strategic and operational goals. Key responsibilities include conducting routine audits to ensure the integrity of data flowing from the Electronic Health Record (EHR) into the external billing system, maintaining EHR patient access dictionaries, and developing improved revenue cycle processes related to patient intake, authorization, and timely billing. The role also involves defining and documenting patient access data sources, preventing payment delays, and performing root cause analysis for process or workflow issues impacting reimbursement. The individual will discover inefficiencies and recommend operational improvements to the Assistant Director and Director of the department, assist in developing policies and procedures for patient access, and maintain third-party systems while working directly with vendors to achieve optimal outcomes. Additionally, the position requires cross-training with the Revenue Integrity Project Analyst to serve as a backup in their absence, assisting in building automated account checks to prevent claims from leaving the institution in error, and providing technical and strategic input to the leadership team to drive transformational changes. The role adheres to DCH standards, maintaining performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
