About the position

The Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst I plays a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, and operational management of revenue cycle information systems at Keck Medicine of USC. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including external vendors and internal departments, to ensure the effective functioning of systems that support revenue cycle processes. The analyst will also focus on customer service, technical support, and performance improvement initiatives while maintaining system integrity and security.

Responsibilities

  • Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to design and implement revenue cycle information systems.
  • Identify and document IT design specifications based on user needs and conduct need-gap analyses.
  • Act as an application administrator to ensure data integrity and maintain system security.
  • Extract, analyze, and transform data for reporting purposes.
  • Facilitate communication between users and vendors regarding system issues and enhancements.
  • Generate standard and custom reports using various technologies.
  • Assist in training new staff on relevant systems and applications.
  • Participate in project management activities, monitoring progress and reporting on tasks.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives and propose solutions to enhance workflow efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant business support or IT support experience.
  • Familiarity with systems such as 3M, PBAR, MedSeries4, Change Healthcare, and nThrive is highly desired.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, either Ambulatory or Acute Care, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with revenue cycle processes including Scheduling, Registration, HIM coding & abstracting, Patient Accounting, and Billing.
