About the position

The Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst II plays a crucial role in the design, development, implementation, and operational management of revenue cycle information systems. This position operates under minimal supervision and collaborates with external vendors, system owners, community partners, contractors, and leadership at Keck Medicine. The analyst will work with various systems including PBAR, Siemens MedSeries 4, Cerner, Change Healthcare, nThrive (MedAssets) Suite, Relay Assurance Plus, Visiquate, and GE Centricity, among others. The primary responsibility is to identify and document IT design specifications based on user needs assessments and generate need-gap analyses. In this role, the analyst will act as an application administrator, ensuring data integrity, maintaining system security, and managing software upgrades and implementations. They will also focus on enhancing system functionality and design to support workflow efficiency and productivity within the departments they support. The analyst will engage in direct customer service while also participating in project-related activities, analyzing, planning, designing, and maintaining reports using various technologies such as IBM Showcase, QlikView, and Cerner Command Language (CCL). The position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to address customer inquiries and enhancement requests efficiently, and a commitment to maintaining a professional image. The analyst will also be responsible for training new staff on applicable systems and applications, fulfilling on-call duties, and performing other assigned tasks as needed. This role is essential for ensuring that the revenue cycle processes are efficient and effective, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with external vendors, system owners, community partners, contractors, and leadership to design, develop, implement, and operationalize revenue cycle information systems.
  • Identify and document IT design specifications based on user needs assessments and generate need-gap analyses.
  • Act as an application administrator, ensuring data integrity and maintaining system security.
  • Manage software upgrades, implementations, and conversions.
  • Analyze, plan, design, create, and maintain reports using various technologies including IBM Showcase and QlikView.
  • Provide strong customer service by addressing customer questions, concerns, and enhancement requests efficiently and professionally.
  • Train new staff members on applicable systems and applications.
  • Participate in project-related activities and monitor project task progress.
  • Utilize critical analytical and problem-solving skills to propose innovative solutions and improve system workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 6 years of relevant experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Soarian application and HL7 interface troubleshooting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an IS healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with systems like 3M, PBAR, MedSeries4, Change Healthcare, nThrive, and PatientKeeper is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills to address customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Experience in solution design and development, including analyzing requirements and formulating scope and objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to propose innovative solutions.
  • Technical knowledge of application build, design, and technical infrastructure.
  • Project management skills to work independently on projects and complete tasks on time and on budget.
  • Reporting and analytics skills to generate standard and custom reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with revenue cycle processes such as Scheduling, Registration, HIM coding & abstracting, Patient Accounting, and Billing.
