About the position

The Senior Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst will play a critical role in the design, development, implementation, and operational management of revenue cycle information systems. This position requires collaboration with external vendors, system owners, community partners, contractors, and leadership at Keck Medicine to ensure the effective functioning of systems such as PBAR, Siemens MedSeries 4, Cerner, Change Healthcare, nThrive (MedAssets) Suite, Relay Assurance Plus, Visiquate, and GE Centricity. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and documenting IT design specifications based on user needs assessments and generating need-gap analyses. This role demands expert knowledge to develop system scope and objectives, analyze existing or proposed systems, and modify procedures to resolve issues using data processing techniques. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst will act as an application administrator, ensuring data integrity, maintaining system security, and managing software upgrades and implementations. The role requires a strong understanding of the functional workflows and processes of the departments supported, ensuring that system functionality aligns with workflow efficiency and user productivity. The analyst will balance their time between direct customer service and project-related activities, creating and maintaining intermediate to advanced level reports using various technologies, including IBM Showcase, QlikView, Cerner Command Language (CCL), OnDemand, and Siemens MedSeries 4. The position also involves on-call responsibilities, requiring the analyst to be available to address urgent issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, enabling them to design solutions, develop project scopes, and solve problems related to system workflows and revenue cycle processes. They will also be expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for business transformation through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and operationalize revenue cycle information systems.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, system owners, and community partners to ensure effective system functionality.
  • Identify and document IT design specifications based on user needs assessments.
  • Generate need-gap analyses and develop system scope and objectives.
  • Act as an application administrator, ensuring data integrity and maintaining system security.
  • Manage software upgrades, implementations, and conversions.
  • Create and maintain intermediate to advanced level reports using various reporting tools.
  • Provide direct customer service and address user questions and concerns efficiently.
  • Lead small to medium projects and facilitate team and cross-functional meetings.
  • Analyze, plan, design, and develop solutions to meet organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of relevant revenue cycle experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an IS healthcare setting.
  • Experience with 2 full life cycle implementations from scoping/planning to go-live support.
  • At least 3 years of Soarian Application experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with HL7, Patient Access, and Revenue Cycle systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Soarian interface issues and third-party applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in creating and maintaining reports using tools like IBM Showcase, QlikView, Cerner Command Language (CCL), OnDemand, and Siemens MedSeries4.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with 3M, PBAR, MedSeries4, Change Healthcare, nThrive, and PatientKeeper systems.
  • Experience in scheduling, registration, HIM coding, patient accounting, and billing.
