About the position

The Revenue Cycle Director at Milwaukee County is responsible for overseeing the revenue cycle activities of the Behavioral Health Services (BHS), managing over $100 million in annual patient receivables. This role involves directing policies, objectives, and initiatives to maximize revenue generation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and managing the billing department to optimize billing and collections processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of Milwaukee County's Behavioral Health Services revenue cycle activities.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement financial goals and benchmarks to ensure revenue maximization.
• Manage the billing department and ensure timely monthly billing and collections.
• Conduct revenue cycle audits and reviews to ensure alignment with policies and identify areas for improvement.
• Direct updates on internal policy changes related to state, federal, and external payer policies and revenue agreements.
• Create and compile revenue reporting and analyze revenue cycle issues to identify root causes of recurring problems.
• Oversee revenue cycle processes in various information systems and ensure accurate billing and timely collections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration or closely related field required.
• Five (5) years or more of work experience in Finance, Billing or Healthcare Systems required.
• One (1) year or more of work experience in a Supervisory, Management or Director role required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required.
