About the position

The Revenue Cycle Informatics Analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing the financial performance of an academic acute care medical center. This position involves providing internal consulting services to the Accounts Receivable department, focusing on the development and implementation of solutions aimed at maximizing cash flow and revenue returns. The analyst will lead process design initiatives, apply project management methodologies, and collaborate with various stakeholders to improve revenue cycle operations.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages process design and/or redesign initiatives using methodologies such as system/operations analysis and process modeling.
• Applies project management methods to support complex revenue cycle projects, including developing project plans and financial projections.
• Collaborates with revenue cycle leaders to define business requirements for new or updated processes and reporting solutions.
• Conducts data mining and analysis to identify improvement opportunities in revenue cycle processes.
• Develops and maintains dashboards and KPI reports for monitoring revenue cycle performance.
• Identifies operational inefficiencies and partners with stakeholders to implement improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Business Management or Operations Research; Master's degree preferred in System's Engineering or in progress.
• Minimum of 5 years of related hospital experience working with internal departments on work processes, reporting, and data analysis.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records and billing software systems, managing large data sets, and developing data visualizations.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Visio, and Project.
• Epic Certification preferred in Hospital Billing, Revenue Integrity, and/or Clarity Data Model.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in healthcare informatics or analytics.
• Familiarity with revenue cycle management best practices.
