About the position

The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Business Office, which includes patient registration, billing, cashiering, collections, and communication functions. This role ensures that all processes are efficient and compliant with hospital policies while supporting the mission and values of Lompoc Valley Medical Center. The manager will lead a team, monitor workflows, and implement improvements to enhance the revenue cycle operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all functions and staff of the Business Office including Registration/Admitting, Billing, Cashiering & Collections, and PBX operation.
  • Monitor inpatient and outpatient admissions/registrations for accurate data and compliance with billing and coding policies.
  • Organize and direct workflows for admitting and registration clerks, billers, and PBX staff.
  • Monitor backlogs in the patient processing cycle and maintain reporting systems to measure productivity.
  • Coordinate access and authorization rules, billing needs, and collection activities for third-party payer contracts.
  • Manage follow-up processes on outstanding accounts using electronic and other methods.
  • Research and implement improvements in business office functions.
  • Evaluate, hire, and discipline employees based on performance and organizational policy.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards of performance.
  • Interface with other Department Directors regarding patient registration and billing matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.)
  • Minimum of five years of successful supervisory management experience in patient registration, billing, collection, and reimbursement.
  • Strong human relations and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with physicians, staff, customers, and administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
