The Revenue Cycle Research Billing Analyst at The Christ Hospital Health Network plays a crucial role in providing financial administrative support for clinical research. This position ensures accurate billing for clinical trial participants, adhering to federal regulations to maintain compliance and mitigate financial risks. The analyst coordinates research finance and billing responsibilities for various trials, ensuring that all charges are captured accurately and in a timely manner, while also serving as a resource for resolving billing inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial administrative and subject matter support for research from study intake to closure.
  • Ensure accurate billing for clinical trial participants in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Coordinate and administer research finance and billing responsibilities for sponsored and federally funded trials.
  • Monitor charge capture and collaborate with clinicians and revenue cycle staff to confirm accuracy of captured charges.
  • Build and update study records, ensuring accurate identification of study participants.
  • Act as a resource for revenue cycle business office staff to resolve billing questions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for non-Lindner research studies regarding price quotes and IRB approval.
  • Achieve and maintain key performance indices for service, such as managing the Epic billing queue.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations in Medicare Coverage Analysis for clinical trials.
  • Assist in tracking and confirming annual renewals and protocol amendments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years related research, coding, or medical billing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical research revenue cycle processes.
  • Working knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 codes, medical terminology, and billing rules.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Experience with Epic, MS Excel, and MS Word.
