About the position

The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of UF Health Physicians Billing and Accounts Receivables. This role involves performing established financial processes to facilitate and expedite the billing and collection of professional services, including billing claims, patient account research, insurance verification, and resolution of denied claims.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing claims according to Federal/Managed Care rules and regulations.
• Conduct patient account research and resolution.
• Verify insurance and determine benefits.
• Identify reimbursement issues and resolve credits and refunds.
• Identify payment variance invoices and follow up on denied claims.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of healthcare/billing and collections/financial experience required or one year in a business setting dealing with finance, accounting, insurance, or collection systems.
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred.
• Familiarity with Federal/managed care rules and regulations preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to collect money and discuss financial matters professionally with patients/payors.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree may substitute for required work experience.
• Epic system knowledge preferred.
