About the position
The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts receivables to ensure maximum and timely reimbursement for services performed in hospital billing and claims. This customer-focused role emphasizes accounts receivable management, requiring the specialist to stay current on payer-specific regulations and procedures, provide written summaries of findings and recommendations, and take action to recover delinquent accounts. The position allows for flexibility to work from home after completing the initial training period.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of accounts receivables for hospital billing and claims.
- Ensure maximum and timely reimbursement for services performed.
- Stay current on all payer-specific regulations and procedures.
- Provide written summaries of findings and recommendations.
- Follow established guidelines to recover delinquent accounts with payers.
- Place calls to payers to collect payments and assist in maintaining Network A/R days.
- Perform follow-ups using payer websites when appropriate.
Requirements
- 2+ years of medical billing experience specifically handling denials with commercial payers such as Anthem, Cigna, UHG, Humana, Aetna.
- Understanding of the reimbursement methodologies of contracts.
