About the position

The Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst at NYU Langone Health plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise and application support for various hospital revenue cycle software modules, particularly Epic. This mid-level position involves understanding operational workflows and application configuration to enhance the efficiency of revenue cycle processes across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and system configuration related to support processes including eligibility, coding, charging, billing, reimbursement, remittances, and follow-up.
  • Establish working relationships with Revenue Cycle Operations, System Vendors, MCIT, and end users to provide high-quality service.
  • Act as a liaison between Revenue Cycle Operations, Information Technology, and third-party systems.
  • Proactively identify and resolve system issues with input from leadership.
  • Collaborate with other RCS team members on various projects to meet organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of NYULMC service standards, New York State Hospital regulations, and Federal HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain composure when facing challenges and setbacks in daily tasks/projects.
  • Understand HL7 interfaces, EMRs, HIPAA transactions, and security protocols.
  • Develop professional skills in information systems and healthcare fields through continuous learning.
  • Attend user and internal team meetings, as well as continuing education and HIPAA security training courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or technology-related field.
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, technology, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in hospital revenue cycle operations or healthcare technology.
  • Certification in one or more Epic modules, preferably Resolute Hospital Billing/Claims.
