About the position

The Revenue Integrity Analyst at Summa Health System plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing Revenue Cycle processes. This position focuses on minimizing avoidable denials, ensuring accurate charge capture and reconciliation, and providing insights through report trending and analytics. The Analyst collaborates with various departments to implement best practices and maintain compliance with current regulations, ultimately ensuring the timely and accurate capture of patient service revenue.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide insight into Revenue Cycle processes, including front-end avoidable denials and charge capture/reconciliation.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of the Charge Description Master (CDM) alongside the Revenue Integrity Coordinator.
• Implement and support continuous improvement in key revenue cycle functions such as Registration, Coding, and Billing.
• Maintain effective communication and relationships with clinical charging departments to facilitate best practice processes.
• Monitor and communicate current regulations and reporting requirements from government or other payers, ensuring proper implementation through project oversight.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services, Finance, or a closely related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• Three years of related professional/business experience in a technical/financial healthcare environment, including experience with Epic.
• Certification as a medical coder through AHIMA (CCS, CCS P) or AAPC (CPC-H) is required; certification as a Revenue Cycle Integrity Professional (CRIP) is preferred.
