About the position

The Revenue Integrity Analyst position at the University of Missouri involves monitoring and ensuring adherence to charge reconciliation processes within revenue departments. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with billing guidelines and optimizing reimbursement through accurate coding practices. The analyst will review changes in CPT®, HCPCS, and revenue codes, ensuring they align with applicable regulations and standards. Additionally, the analyst will conduct revenue integrity reviews, focusing on documentation and coding requirements, and present findings for corrective actions. As a resource for organizational and operational matters related to revenue integrity, the analyst will investigate and resolve concerns reported in their area, providing necessary follow-up to ensure issues are addressed. The role also includes developing tools to track potential areas of lost revenue and planning regular meetings with assigned divisions to review key performance indicators. These discussions will focus on identifying revenue leakage and exploring performance improvement opportunities. The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor revenue departments' adherence to charge reconciliation processes and metrics measured by key performance indicators.
  • Review changes in CPT®, HCPCS, and revenue codes for accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.
  • Perform revenue integrity reviews and present findings for corrective action.
  • Serve as a resource for organizational and operational matters related to revenue integrity issues.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve revenue integrity concerns and opportunities reported in their area.
  • Develop tools to track and identify potential areas of lost revenue.
  • Plan and conduct regular meetings with assigned Divisions to review key performance indicators and discuss potential revenue leakage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, coding, clinical, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of CPT-HCPCS, third party reimbursement methodologies, and revenue cycle process.
  • Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements, coding guidelines and CMS Medicare reimbursement methodology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Coder (CPC) certification by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
