About the position

Rocket Software is seeking a highly experienced individual to lead the financial close process for revenue. This role encompasses overall responsibility for the monthly reconciliations of General Ledger (GL) balances to the Revenue sub-ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will prepare quarterly financial reports and provide insights regarding variances compared to prior years, playing a hands-on role in revenue activities including contract reviews, financial statement support preparation, and external audits. Additionally, this position involves managing the revenue team, ensuring that team members are provided with growth and development opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. The ideal candidate will also be tasked with developing sound and efficient accounting controls and business processes for all revenue areas. This includes implementing best practices and ensuring compliance with US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Global Accounting standards. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors. The candidate will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail in all financial reporting and accounting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the periodic and annual financial close process for revenue.
  • Overall responsibility for monthly reconciliations of GL balances to Revenue sub-ledger.
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting and provide insights regarding variance to prior year.
  • Play a hands-on role with respect to revenue activities including contract review, financial statement support preparation, and external audit.
  • Manage the revenue team ensuring team members are provided with growth and development opportunities.
  • Develop sound and efficient accounting controls and business processes for all revenue areas.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Global Accounting standards.
  • Software experience preferred.
  • M&A transaction and accounting experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Accounting software.
