About the position
The Rewind Operator at Polyvinyl Films, Inc. is responsible for loading large master rolls into a rewinder machine to produce smaller rolls. This entry-level position requires basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform tasks related to the operation of the rewinding process, ensuring quality and efficiency in production.
Responsibilities
- Load cores into the rewinder hopper with all of the arrows facing the same direction
- Place the master roll on the spindle shaft and prepare to unwind
- Examine the first roll produced and make minor adjustments, if needed
- Gather the rewound rolls and place in a gaylord
- Replace the master roll as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Basic math skills
- Working knowledge of EG, Gauge Micrometer, tape measure, footage counter
- Knowledge of mechanical functions of edge trimming and converting
- 0-2 years of experience
