About the position

The RF and Networking Test Specialist/Engineer will provide essential RF support functions and engineering efforts for MIDS-LVT and JTRS terminals. This role involves planning, documentation, test conduct, training, and troubleshooting for Navy external communications systems, ensuring effective integration and operation of RF and networking technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide RF support functions and engineering efforts for MIDS-LVT and JTRS terminals.
  • Execute tests and data analysis in accordance with test plan guidance.
  • Develop and provide input to pre-test and post-test documentation, including Test Plans and Test Reports.
  • Set up, activate, operate, and troubleshoot Navy external communications systems.
  • Provide operations and troubleshooting expertise in support of test events, including remote support for off-site participants.
  • Use data analysis to propose and implement solutions to identified issues.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience with RF/Microwave data communications systems in a radio propagation environment.
  • Experience with the setup and operation of RF/Microwave communications systems for data transportation.
  • Familiarity with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and communication systems test equipment.
  • Experience with computer networks, including local router management and VPNs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM field preferred.
  • IAT Level 1 certification.
  • CCNA certification.
